Baiada's Commitment to the Environment
Baiada Poultry recognises the importance of conducting its activities in a manner which will minimise the impact on our environment. The initiatives adopted by Baiada include:
- Formulation and issue of our Environmental Policy by the most senior executive – the Managing Director
- Development and implementation of an Environmental Management System which will be certified to AS/NZS/ISO 14001 Standard across all company-owned sites. This will focus on not only sustaining our system but enhancing it to achieve a process of continual improvement. 22 Baiada sites are now 14001 certified.
- Becoming a signatory to the strengthened National Packaging Covenant in September 2005 and development of detailed Action Plans that will assist in fulfilling Covenant objectives.
