Environmental Commitment
Baiada's Commitment to the Environment
Baiada recognises the importance of conducting its activities in a manner which will minimise the impact on our environment. The initiatives adopted by Baiada include:
- Formulation and issue of our Environmental Policy by the most senior executive – the Managing Director
- Development and implementation of an Environmental Management System which is Certified to AS/NZS/ISO 14001 Standard across all major company-owned sites. This will focus on not only sustaining our environment but enhancing it to achieve a process of continual improvement. 34 Baiada sites are now 14001 Certified.
- Becoming a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant in September 2001 and committing to the strengthened Australian Packaging Covenant in 2010. The development of our detailed Action Plan (see link below) will assist in fulfilling Covenant objectives.
